Google Workspace For Nonprofits
Google Workspace for Nonprofits! This is my number one favorite tool that can organize all your files, collaborate with the whole team, and help the office save time on a daily basis.
At the first shelter I worked at, we were using PCs with yearly subscriptions to Microsoft Suite. Some accounts were in personal names and we were not all synced on the cloud, and frankly, it was just a big mess!.
Google For Nonprofits made our organization more collaborative, productive, and efficient. Google For Nonprofits also offers Google Ad Grants, Youtube Nonprofit Program, and Google Earth and maps. There are a few steps you will have to complete, approval for this program can take weeks, depending on if you have claimed your Google Business Profile.
Once you have verified your organization’s eligibility, you’ll be able to activate the Google products that best meet your needs.
The Products you will have access to inside Google Workspace are, Professional email addresses at your nonprofit’s domain, 100 participant video meetings, 30 GB of Cloud storage per user, Docs, Sheets, Calendar, Forms, Classroom, Slides, Podcasts, and more! This suite of free software was easy to set up, keeps everyone on the same cloud, and makes tasks easy to share and organize your organization.
We were paying an email company around $150.00 a year for basic mail (Squirrelmail) and we had many issues with this running it through Outlook. My favorite thing about Google’s Suite is that I can easily access everything on my phone and each app can be downloaded separately on your phone, based on what you need. You need very little tech experience to set up emails, email forwarding, or import Word Docs, Excel sheets.
The rewards from Google for Nonprofit keep on giving! If your organization is eligible for the Nonprofit features, you will have access to; YouTube Nonprofit, Google Ad Grants, and Google Map Platform Credits.
I could go on and on about all of these awesome features that transformed our shelter practices, but I will spare you the excitement I have about it! Since changing over to Google Workspace there is much less; miscommunication, headaches, and money spent!
To be eligible, you will have to follow a few steps, if you haven’t claimed your Goggle Business Account, it could take up to a month for the verification to take place! Trust the process, it will be worth it in the end, it gives you some time to back up data and make any appropriate decisions when migrating to new software.
